Actually, I have little to tell you today, except that I recently mixed a very nice drink, and I’d like to share the recipe with you here. The idea came to me when I watched my little son fall asleep, while the turquoise blue light of a plush turtle that plays ocean sounds filled the room. The turtle is called “Tranquil Turtle” and after the mission “Falling Asleep” was accomplished, I simply created a drink of that name for me.
It is a very fresh and sparkling cocktail based on different citrus flavors, which are “fizzed up” with dry tonic. It is a turquoise blue Fizz which I think is a good recommendation for many Gin & Tonic lovers. And if you drink too many of them, it certainly has the same effect as the Tranquil Turtle in your bedroom or child’s room. Oh and one thing: The drink contains Blue Curacao, the original Senior Blue Curacao of Curacao to be precise, but Blue Curacao nonetheless… I just wanted to mention it… 🙂
Recipe “Tranquil Turtle”:
3.5 cl Dry Gin (for instance Cotswolds)
2.5 cl Faude Feine Brände Bergamot Eau de vie (Bergamotte aus Kalabrien)
2 cl lemon juice
1.25 cl Senior Blue Curacao of Curacao
1 cl sugar syrup
2 Dashes The Bitter Truth Tonic Bitters
Tonic Water
Preparation: Shake all ingredients except the Tonic Water vigorously on ice and strain into a glass filled with fresh ice cubes. Finally float with Tonic Water.
Glass: D.O.F. Tumbler or Highball (I opted for the Revolution glass from Jakobsendesign)
Garnish: none
Buying sources: At specialized retailers or online
