The Berlioni is a simple, fairly dry drink with divinely bitter flavors. It is a close relative to a classic martini as well as to the Negroni, but the addition of Cynar gives it a special touch. For a long time I had no contact with the artichoke bitter Cynar until a friend of mine once brought a bottle of it. So what can I say? I’m really excited about it, he has great bitter flavors and a subtle sweetness. With the gin and vermouth, the whole thing is really complementary.
